Add an MCP server
Add an MCP server
The server is stored in the project. After capture, the catalog lives on a snapshot. A tool call is made from a fixed snapshot.
Role: a team member who can write in the project.
Prerequisites
Open a project. In the project menu choose MCP Testing > MCP servers.
The server address is https only.
Bearer
- Click Server. On an empty list the button is Add server.
- Enter Title and URL.
- In Auth kind, choose Bearer.
- Enter Token. For Bearer it is required.
- Click Add. The server card opens.
- Click Capture. Wait for the snapshot card.
- When snapshot completeness is Complete, unverified, click Fix snapshot. The snapshot status becomes Fixed.
Change the token with Replace token on the server card.
OAuth
- Click Server.
- Enter Title and URL.
- In Auth kind, choose OAuth.
- client_id may stay empty: the authorization server issues it during consent. Scopes may stay empty.
- Click Add. The server card opens. The Consent block is already on the page.
- In Consent, click Consent. The authorization server page opens.
- Confirm access. The browser returns to the server card. The dialog first says saving is in progress, then that the token was saved.
- The consent table shows Access token expires at. The token itself is not shown.
- Click Capture, then Fix snapshot when completeness allows it.
When the access token has expired, the next call tries to refresh it once. If the authorization server does not issue a new pair, click Consent again.
Until consent is saved, capture and calls are not available for this server.
